My husband - who takes all the gorgeous pictures on this site - got an estimate of $15,000 (eeek!), and (in our minds) he doesn't even need that much done!  He considered a trade - but it would mean working for months with no pay.  That didn't compute. Send for yours here.  Name    Email    Please describe the type of  dental work you need.                   About the Clinic Dr. Rosy and her staff have been experts in Dental Vacations for over 20 years!  Their clinic, with new equipment and facilities, is located in San Jose del Cabo between the airport (where you will arrive) and Cabo.  NOTE:  Those in-the-know, stay in San Jose and just visit Cabo - SJ is more tranquil, traditional and picturesque.  The materials she uses are the same as those used in the US.  Not only does her staff provide dental work, but airport/hotel/airport ground transfers, loaner cell phones, on-call personal assistants for large treatment patients, hotel and activities booking information, priority scheduling and more.  They provide dental services to major local hotels and banks including the Hilton, Sheraton, Scotia Bank, HSBC and Bancomer. Rosy and Her Staff   If you've been doing your research, or visiting Mexican dentist forums, you're aware of the warning to "be sure the dentist speaks English."  Well, ALL of Rosy's staff speaks English, so cross that off your list.    Rosy (Rosa) Peña graduated at the top of her class with High Honors at the National University Autonomous of Mexico in Mexico City. She was the first woman President of the Baja Sur Dental Association and recipient of a Mexican Government Medal in a national Dentistry Competition. The other members of her staff are also highly trained with honors and specialties such as dental sensitive adults and children, dental implants, maxillo-facial reconstruction for trauma patients and congenital problems.  Other members of the staff handle the business end, and like true Cabo locals, most all of them have experience in hotels, real estate, wedding planning, dining, fishing, golf and so much more.  Not only do you get your teeth fixed, you get a personal concierge! Pricing  (see detailed pricing for specific procedures on the Treatments page) One-Price Pricing makes it easy for everyone to estimate veneers, crowns and other costs ahead of time. The price for porcelain over metal crowns or veneers is $500 USD per unit including all tooth preparation, x-rays, any bridge fabrication and the temporaries. Root canals are also $500 regardless of the tooth or number of roots. If you are calculating the price of a bridge, include the teeth that will be anchoring the bridge as well in your count. (Add one on each side of the missing teeth).   Remember, the bridge structure is included in the cost of the crown work. Fiberglass posts for core buildups (if necessary) run $180. Tooth color matching/resin fillings run $95. per tooth, regardless of which tooth or number of surfaces. So how can we offer such low prices? The difference in cost is many faceted.  Lab costs are less in Mexico, dental assistants make $500 a month - not $3-4,000 USD per month as in the USA.  Office rents are less. Most materials and equipment are the same though.  But a nice ocean view house in Los Cabos might cost the doctor $300,000 vs. $1.5 million USD (or more) that a dentist in San Diego county might pay.  And a Baja dentist will likely drive a VW Jetta or Chrysler rather than a Mercedes. Payment  Visa, Master Card, Pesos, Dollars or American Express Travelers checks accepted.  There's an American Express office in San Jose for service. 5% discount for cash payment (American Express checks included). How Long Does It Take? Plan on five working days to do up to five crowns or veneers. Six to ten crowns require ten working days, and a full mouth requires fifteen working days. On larger treatments some patients come for a few days, leave with their temporaries in, then return weeks or months later to have their crowns set. The 2nd visit could just be a short one over the weekend to put in the crowns. It usually takes an hour or two, but it's good to allow a few days before returning home to allow for any necessary bite adjustments. Rush Treatments Another option is to pay for a RUSH (add 30%) and they will shave a week off the times noted above.  For example: 27 crowns (ay!) in ten working days instead of fifteen. The goal is to work efficiently, so you can have more time in the beach chair and less in the dentist's chair. For most folks, it normally takes only two visits to the clinic for several crowns or veneers to be done.
